The New York Times, where he uses data, graphics, and code to tell stories.
Previously, he worked at
Bloomberg,
The Texas Tribune,
the Investigative Reporting Project, Richmond Confidential
and The Beijing News.
He earned his master's degree from the
University of California, Berkeley, Graduate School of Journalism.
He speaks English and Chinese. In his spare time, he produces podcasts for the award-winning outlet
Initium Media. His team was a finalist for the 2026 SOPA Awards.
